Man hurt in off-road bike crash

A teenager suffered serious head injuries when the off-road motorbike he was on collided with a lamppost in Greater Manchester, said police.

The 18-year-old victim was thrown from the bike shortly before 2030 BST on Friday on Mesnes Avenue, Worsley Mesnes, in Wigan.

He was taken to Wigan Infirmary with a serious head injury and is said to be in a critical condition.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact officers.
