Man arrested over double stabbing

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two men were stabbed in a street in Greater Manchester, police said.

Officers were called to Rochdale Infirmary after two men were brought in with stab wounds on Thursday evening.

A 19-year-old man had been stabbed in the stomach and a 20-year-old man had been stabbed in the back.

Police believe the men were attacked after an altercation in Folly Walk, Rochdale, at about 1835 BST.

The 19-year-old is currently in a critical condition while the other man's condition is described as stable.
