Pc faces charges over fatal crash

A Greater Manchester Police officer is facing two charges of dangerous driving after a motorcyclist died in a pursuit by officers.

Alan Long, 54, of Denton, was being followed by police on 1 August last year in Stalybridge when his bike hit a car. He later died in hospital.

Pc Ian Bruce, who was with the Tactical Vehicles Crime Unit, is due before Liverpool magistrates on 21 August.

The charges follow an Independent Police Complaints Commission inquiry.
