Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to murder a father-of-four whose body was found in woodland in Cheshire.

Rodney Marsh, 36, from Golborne in Greater Manchester, was found dead in Alderley Edge last Thursday.

Mr Marsh died from head injuries he sustained in an assault, a post-mortem examination revealed.

A man, 41, and woman, 31, both from Golborne, are being questioned along with a 25-year-old man from Wigan.

The trio were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said officers had been assisted by Greater Manchester Police in detaining the suspects.

Mr Marsh's body was found by walkers, close to Macclesfield Road.

Police later discovered his car, a black Nissan Skyline, in Finlowe Hill Lane. One of the passenger windows had been smashed.
