A 34-year-old man has been charged following a 36-hour armed siege at a house in Greater Manchester.

Craig Baily, of Hereford Road, Hindley, was charged with false imprisonment, possessing an imitation firearm and threats to commit criminal damage.

The stand-off started on Friday after police were told that a man who was possibly armed was holding a hostage.

Officers entered the house in Hereford Road on Sunday and used a Taser gun to arrest a man who was in the loft.
