Railings crash victim's tribute

The family of a motorist who died when his car hit railings in Greater Manchester have paid tribute to him.

John Steven Cain, 59, of Thomas Henshaw Court in Rochdale, died after his Vauxhall Corsa collided with railings in Castleton early on Sunday.

He suffered fatal injuries in the crash in Manchester Road and died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, Greater Manchester Police said.

His family said he would be "sadly missed at this poignant time of year".
