Man killed in railings collision

A motorist has died when his car crashed into a set of railings in Greater Manchester, police have said.

The accident happened on Manchester Road in the Castleton area of Rochdale in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers at the scene found a Vauxhall Corsa had crashed into railings, but no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The 59-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene, a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said.
