Three arrests over cyclist death

Three men have been arrested by police after a cyclist died in a road accident in Manchester.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was seriously injured in a collision with a Honda Civic at Wilbraham Road in Chorlton on Thursday afternoon.

He was treated for his injuries at Manchester Royal Infirmary but he died a short time later.

Three men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

They remain in police custody for questioning.

Wilbraham Road has been closed in both directions close to St Brannocks Road and officers are at the scene investigating what happened.
