Pub shooting victim seriously ill

A man is seriously ill in hospital after being shot in the leg in a crowded pub in Greater Manchester.

The 28-year-old was shot in the thigh in the attack in the Great Western pub, in Great Western Street, Moss Side, in the early hours of Saturday.

A police spokesman said the victim was in a serious condition in hospital and was "lucky to be alive".

Det Sgt Rob Cousen said: "There were at least 100 people in the pub when this incident happened."

He added: "It was possible he could have lost his leg as a result of his injury, not to mention the fact that he could have been killed.

"We have to share the responsibility to find people who would walk into a crowded pub and shoot someone and remove them from our streets."
