Charges in 'ice bandit' operation

Police are investigating more than 40 'ice bandit' thefts

Three men have been charged by police investigating the thefts of more than 40 cars which were left running by their owners during cold weather.

Three men - aged 25, 27 and 28 - from the Farnworth and Kearsley areas of Bolton have been charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.

Thefts by gangs who call themselves "ice bandits" are being looked at across north-west England and Leeds.

The three men are due to appear before Bolton magistrates.
