Armed robbery on van outside bank

A large amount of cash has been stolen during an armed robbery on a security van outside a bank in Tameside.

A masked man armed with a machete threatened the driver as he was making a delivery to the Royal Bank of Scotland, on Old Brow, Mossley.

The driver was unhurt, but the robber escaped with a security box of cash in a stolen Ford Mondeo on Thursday.

The robber is described as tall, of medium build, and was dressed in black clothes and a black balaclava.
