Three people rescued from blaze

A woman and two children have been rescued from a house in Greater Manchester after a fire broke out.

More than a dozen firefighters were called to the terraced house on Rawson Road, Bolton, at midnight following reports that people were trapped.

Crews scaled a ladder to rescue two children aged nine and 12 from an upstairs bedroom.

A 34-year-old woman was found in a downstairs room and had to be revived by paramedics at the scene.

She was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.

The cause of the fire, which started in a kitchen, is being investigated.
