Fatal stabbing victim identified

Officers were called to the house on Thursday

A 24-year-old woman from Greater Manchester who suffered fatal stab wounds has been identified by police.

Officers were called to a property in Masefield Drive, Farnworth, at about 1030 BST on Thursday following reports a woman had been stabbed.

A post-mortem examination concluded Katie Boardman died from multiple stab wounds.

A 29-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.
