Two injured in helicopter crash

Two people are being treated in hospital after a small helicopter crashed in Greater Manchester.

The two-seater gyrocopter crash landed in a field near Barton Aerodrome in Eccles on Thursday afternoon.

The pilot and passenger, who are believed to have taken off in Shropshire, were taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. An investigation into the cause of the crash is under way.
