Walker rescued after ravine fall

A woman who fell down a ravine in Greater Manchester has been left with serious leg injuries.

An RAF helicopter was scrambled to rescue the 72-year-old woman at Walker Fold, Bolton, after the accident at about 1800 BST.

Bolton Mountain Rescue Team was also called out to help the victim to safety.

She was pulled out using a rope and stretcher and was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment.
