Teenager charged with killing boy

A teenager has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in a Salford street.

Courtney Eaton, from Winton, Salford, was attacked on New Lane, Winton, on Friday night. He died later in hospital from a single stab wound.

Police said an 18-year-old from Ordsall was charged with murder and possessing an offensive weapon. He is due before Salford magistrates on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder was released without charge.

Courtney had recently left school and was working part-time in a brewery.
