Man stabbed twice after music row

A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the street after a row over loud music.

The victim was talking to a 37-year-old man in Moston, Manchester, when the attacker approached the pair and asked the older man to turn his music down.

The attacker then produced a 10-inch knife, before chasing the 20-year-old and stabbing him.

Greater Manchester Police said the man was stabbed in the leg and body and is currently in a stable condition in North Manchester Hospital.

The victim was stood on Joan Street when he was approached by the attacker on Sunday night, but was chased to Attleboro Road where he was stabbed.

'Frightening incident'

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack.

Det Insp Mark Hussey, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was clearly a frightening incident for the victim and it is fortunate he is not more seriously injured.

"I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen what happened on Sunday night to call us if they saw anything.

"Also, I'd like to appeal to the person who is responsible, or anyone who knows who it is, to get in touch and explain what has happened."
