Tributes to flooding crash biker

Michael Peplow
Michael was a keen biker and snowboarder.

The family of a motorcyclist who died after colliding with a car in Rochdale have paid tribute to him.

Nineteen-year-old Michael Peplow from Heywood skidded while riding through flood water in Pilsworth Road, Rochdale, on Saturday night.

His Triumph bike was in collision with a Ford Mondeo travelling in the opposite direction, near to the junction with Moss Hall Road.

Michael's family say he will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.

Michael died of serious head injuries at Fairfield General Hospital shortly after the crash. The driver of the Mondeo was not injured.

His parents Anthony and Carole said he was a keen motorcyclist and snowboarder and was working at the Morrisons supermarket in Heywood.

Greater Manchester police are appealing for witnesses.
