Rider dies in 'flood skid' crash

A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a car in Greater Manchester.

Police believe the 19-year-old rider skidded while riding through flood water in Pilsworth Road, Rochdale, on Saturday night.

The Triumph bike was in collision with a Ford Mondeo travelling in the opposite direction, near to the junction with Moss Hall Road.

The rider was taken to Fairfield General Hospital with serious head injuries but was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Greater Manchester police are appealing for witnesses.
