Four injured in police car crash

Four people were injured when a car collided with a police vehicle on an emergency call in Greater Manchester.

The police car had its blue light and siren activated when it collided with a Renault in Altrincham on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old man driving the car and two children were sent to hospital with whiplash. The police driver also had whiplash but did not attend hospital.

The crash has been referred to Greater Manchester Police's Professional Standards Department.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened shortly after 1500 BST.
