Driver dies after lamppost crash

A 33-year-old woman has died in hospital after the car she was driving hit a lamppost.

The accident happened on the junction of Bolton Street and Peel Way in Bury town centre.

The woman suffered serious head and chest injuries and died in Fairfield Hospital. Two male passengers, aged 19 and 21, were also hurt.

The 19-year-old is stable in hospital while the other was released after treatment following Friday's accident.
