Police find teenage murder victim

A 19-year-old woman has been found murdered at a property in Greater Manchester.

The victim was discovered at an address on Windermere Road, Hyde, on Monday evening following reports of an assault.

Police have yet to release the identity of the woman who was found at 1800 BST.

Detectives said a man was arrested early on Tuesday in north Wales on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

Supt Catherine McKay, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "At this stage, we are treating this as an isolated incident in which a young woman has been tragically killed.

"We have already made one arrest and inquiries by officers will continue over the next few days to establish exactly what happened."

A post-mortem examination to establish how the victim died is due to take place later.
