Taxi driver held up at gunpoint

A gun was held to a taxi driver's head during a robbery in south Manchester.

The victim was driving his private hire car to a house on Kensworth Close on the Roundthorn estate in Wythenshawe on Sunday when he was attacked.

As he turned his car in the road the doors were opened he was threatened by three masked men armed with a gun and 6in (15cm) kitchen knife.

The driver handed over his takings and the men stole other items from the car and ran off towards nearby woodland.

The victim was unhurt in the incident but was left extremely shaken.

Any witnesses to the incident at 0100 BST on Sunday, are asked to contact police.
