M-way reopens after bridge crash

A stretch of motorway which was closed after a lorry hit a bridge and jack-knifed has fully reopened.

The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 19 and 20 on Friday afternoon.

The road was closed in both directions from 1530 BST leaving queues backing up more than 10 miles on either side.

The southbound lanes and two northbound lanes were reopened a few hours later but the other lane remained shut until about 0530 BST.
