Gang shoot victim through window

An armed gang shot a man twice through the window of his home before forcing their way in and shooting him a third time, police said.

The 27-year-old man victim suffered gunshot wounds in the stomach, back and leg in the incident in Newall Green, Manchester.

Witnesses said three masked men ran from the scene on Firbank Road towards the bridge on Greenwood Road.

Det Insp Mark Wildigg called it an "horrific attack".

He said: "The victim is fortunate to be in a stable condition.

"While we have had a number of eyewitness accounts, we believe that there are more people out there who can help us track down the offenders."
