The centre wants to promote responsible owenership and raise money

Dog walkers in Liverpool are being given tips on responsible ownership at a charity event in a city park.

The inaugural Bark in the Park event is taking place at Croxteth Country Park, Liverpool, on Sunday.

The West Lancashire Canine Centre, which organises the event, also hopes to convince owners to support the region's main animal charities.

And as well as offering advice, the centre was putting on a show by the West Lancashire Dog Display Team.

All profits from the event will be donated to the Animals in Need charity.
