Police in Greater Manchester are investigating claims that a man who killed his former girlfriend and her two children had attacked other women.

Pierre Williams, of Birmingham, was given three life sentences for killing Beverley Samuels, 36, Fred Wizzart, 13, and Kesha Wizzart, 18, with a hammer.

The 33-year-old was also convicted of sex assaults on the two women.

Greater Manchester Police said several allegations have been made since Williams' conviction in February.

At Manchester Crown Court Judge Mr Justice Christopher Pitchford ordered Williams to serve a minimum of 38 years in prison for the killings on 12 July last year.

Mrs Samuels, a nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary, was sexually assaulted before being struck with at least seven blows to the head at the family's Fallowfield home.

Her daughter Kesha had her hands tied behind her back before she was killed in the same way.

Mrs Samuels' teenage son was found on the floor in the same bedroom as his mother.

The court was told that Williams, of Selly Oak, had a history of sexual violence against women.

After the trial, Greater Manchester Police said other women may have been victims of his attacks and urged them to come forward.

They are now looking into several claims.

A spokesman said: "Greater Manchester Police is currently investigating a number of allegations that have been made by women against Pierre Williams.

"The allegations are historic and have been made since he was convicted in February 2008 of murdering a mother and her two children in Fallowfield.

"Inquiries are at a very early stage and officers will be speaking to the women to find out how they want us to proceed."
