Police issue car de-icing warning
Motorists are being urged not to leave their vehicles unattended while defrosting them in winter conditions.

Police said 150 vehicles were stolen in Greater Manchester in January and February this year when drivers left engines running.

The vehicles taken ranged from BMW cars to Ford Transit vans.

Ch Insp Haydn Roberts said: "People are tempted to leave the engine running while they stay in the house, but it only takes a second to steal a car."
