Talks to end health staff strike
Karen Reissmann
Ms Reissmann was found guilty of gross misconduct by the trust
Talks between health managers and union bosses are to take place to try to end a strike by community psychiatric nursing staff in Manchester.

The indefinite action started two weeks ago and follows the dismissal of mental health nurse Karen Reissmann.

She was found guilty of gross misconduct by Manchester's Mental Health and Social Care Trust.

Unison is meeting managers at the trust to try to bring and end to the industrial action.

Home visits

Ms Reissmann was suspended in June for allegedly bringing a health trust into disrepute.

She claimed she was suspended for speaking out against job cuts and government policies.

The staff who are striking carry out home and work visits.

The health trust said it was "keen for ongoing dialogue" to resolve the dispute.
