Man charged over doorstep death

David Brown died from a stab wound to his leg
A man has been charged with the murder of a man who was found dead on the doorstep of his Manchester home.

David Brown, 24, was found outside the door to his flat on Chorlton Road in Hulme early on 21 September.

He had been out at a number of bars and clubs in Manchester on the night before he was found.

David Alder, 39, of Osprey Court, Trafford, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Brown died as the result of a stab wound to his left thigh.
