Anthony Wilson was an influential figure in the "Madchester" scene

An anthology of poetry and prose is to be published in memory of Anthony Wilson, the music mogul behind some of Manchester's most successful bands.

The Salford-born entrepreneur, who founded Factory records, the label behind New Order and the Happy Mondays, died in August at the age of 57.

Wilson, who had kidney cancer, was also known for setting up the Hacienda club.

The anthology 'Arcademia - A Campus Corpus' will be written by students and staff from the University of Salford.

It will be compiled by the university's literary society.

Hardev Singh, who is editor of the society, said: "We hope it will go some way towards remembering a truly colourful personality who cared a great deal about the local area and the arts."
