Footballer's sentencing adjourned
Dietmar Hamann
Dietmar Hamann was convicted of driving offences
Footballer Dietmar Hamann will appear in court next month to be sentenced over driving offences.

The German Manchester City midfielder, who lives in Cheshire, was due before Macclesfield magistrates on Thursday.

His £70,000 Porsche crashed into a fence in Styal, Cheshire, in October 2006 but he did not report the smash.

The hearing was delayed after magistrates were late. It was adjourned until 22 October because Hamann and his solicitor were not available.

Hamann, 34, of Alderley Edge, was convicted earlier this month of careless driving, failing to stop after an accident, failing to supply information to police and failing to report an accident.

He fled the scene and was found by police a mile and a half away.
