Woman, 94, 'critical' after crash
A 94-year-old woman was in intensive care after her car was involved in a collision in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to Strines Road in Marple following reports that a Nissan Micra had been in collision with a Renault Clio and a Mitsubishi Shogun.

Police said they believed the Micra, being driven by the 94-year-old, collided with the stationary Clio, flipped over and was hit by the Shogun.

The accident happened shortly after 1000 BST on Tuesday.

Multiple injuries

The woman, who lives locally, broke her arm and leg in the collision and also suffered serious head injuries.

She was taken to Stepping Hill hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the Shogun also suffered minor injuries in the accident and has been treated for a suspected broken thumb and whiplash.

The driver of the Clio was treated at the scene for shock.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
