A 13-year-old boy who died when the pedal bike he was riding was in collision with a bus in Belle Vue has been named by police.

The family of Ryan Daniel McGarry, of Coverdale Crescent, Ardwick, said he was an "outdoors type" who loved going to the Army Cadets and swimming.

Greater Manchester Police were called to the collision on Hyde Road, near the Showcase Cinema, on Sunday evening.

Ryan was taken to hospital with head injuries but died on Tuesday evening.
