Arson arrest after blaze at house

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a house in Greater Manchester.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at the property on Blackstone Avenue in Belfield, Rochdale, on Wednesday night.

A 23-year-old man was taken to Rochdale Infirmary suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke and has since been discharged, police said.

The fire caused substantial damage to the terraced property. Officers are appealing for witnesses.
