Machete gang attacks taxi driver
A taxi driver has been attacked by four men armed with machetes in Shaw.

The 39-year-old victim pulled up outside an address on St James Street where he was approached by the armed men, Greater Manchester Police said.

One of the offenders opened the driver's door and the victim was hit on the head. The driver was stabbed in the leg and received a cut to his hand.

The victim managed to sound his horn and the offenders ran off. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The taxi driver suffered injuries to his hand, leg and head and was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital.

The offenders are described as white men, possibly in their mid 20s, of medium build. They were all wearing dark clothing with hoods over their heads.

A small, dark car was seen near the scene driving away from Salt Street towards Milnrow, detectives said.

The incident happened on 14 August.
