Reward in showground organ hunt
Organ
The organ was housed in a specially-adapted van
The owner of an antique showground organ stolen from a farmhouse in Greater Manchester has quadrupled the reward on offer for its safe return.

The £80,000 Marenghi organ, which was made in 1903, was stolen from Pear Tree Farm in Dunham Massey, Trafford.

It was inside an adapted maroon Bedford van when it was taken on 29 June.

Owner Michael Priestner said the organ was "irreplaceable". A reward of £4,000 is now being offered after an insurance company put up more money.

"My family and I are very worried and our routine of taking the organ to shows and charity events has been stopped, leaving our summer season ruined," said Mr Priestner.

"The vehicle contains personal items that belong to the children which, of course, upsets them too.

"The van and organ have been missing for eight weeks now and it is not only my family and I that are upset."
