Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton has been arrested by police investigating an alleged training ground assault on a team-mate.
Joey Barton has been bailed until July pending further inquiries
Greater Manchester Police said the 24-year-old was questioned on suspicion of assault.
Ousmane Dabo claims he was attacked during a training session at City's Carrington training ground on 1 May.
A police spokesman said Joey Barton had been bailed until 11 July pending further inquiries.
A police spokesman confirmed: "A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a Section 20 assault following an incident when a 30-year-old man was assaulted at Carrington."
Ousmane Dabo, 30, was treated in hospital for injuries to his eye, nose and lip following the alleged incident.

He claims to have been punched by the midfielder which left him "looking like the Elephant Man" and suffering a suspected detached retina.
Joey Barton has been suspended for the rest of the season and his future at the club remains uncertain.
However, despite his disciplinary problems Barton's situation at Man City has generated interest from a number of top clubs, with Everton being touted as favourites to sign the £5.5m-rated midfielder.
