Pedestrian killed in bike crash
A 42-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a motorbike which was involved in a collision with a car in Greater Manchester.

The woman, who has not been named, was walking along a street in Bury on Friday afternoon when she was struck.

Greater Manchester Police said a VW Golf car was turning right on Church Street when it collided with the bike.

The rider was thrown off but the Yamaha R1 bike continued and ploughed into a group of pedestrians on the pavement.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were taken to hospital and the rider of the motorbike, who is in his late 30s, suffered a broken leg in the accident.

The driver of the car was unhurt but was said to be suffering from shock.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at around 1300 BST.
