A robbery in which an armed man posed as a customer in a betting shop has been captured on CCTV cameras.

Greater Manchester Police have released several images of the man who held up Ladbrokes on Chorley New Road in Horwich on Wednesday night.

He was caught on camera as he pointed the gun at staff and on several frames as he left the shop.

Police said he initially pretended to fill a betting slip in, before threatening workers.

He left the shop with a "substantial" amount of cash and drove off in a silver Peugeot.

Police said staff were not hurt but were left "extremely shaken" by the robbery.

The man was white, aged about 35, about 5ft 9in tall and of heavy build.

He was wearing a dark-coloured peaked cap, a dark fleece and dark trousers.
