Thousands flock to Irish parade
Thousands of people flooded into Manchester to watch the city's annual St Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday.

The procession of around 70 floats toured the city, taking in the World Irish Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill and the Irish market at Albert Square.

Organisers claim Manchester's Irish Festival, which is in its 20th year, is one of the biggest in Europe.

Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern attended the city's festival in 2004. St Patrick's Day is on Saturday.
