Attempted abduction of teenager
A man tried to abduct a school girl in Greater Manchester.

The 15-year-old pupil was walking home from school when the man drove up next to her in a silver car on Gladeside Road, Benchill.

Detectives say he asked her a few questions and then grabbed her hand and tried to pull her inside the vehicle.

The youngster struggled free and ran away after the incident on Thursday afternoon. The car drove off towards the Civic Centre.

The man is described as black, aged between 20 and 25 years old and had short, shaven, black hair.

He had a small face, was of muscular build and had gaps between his top teeth and a bruise on his top lip.

He was wearing a light grey hooded top and spoke with a Manchester accent.
