Attempted abduction of schoolboy
Three men tried to abduct a 13-year-old boy on a road in Wigan when they stopped and asked him for directions.

A red Nissan car, carrying the men, stopped on Thicknesse Avenue, in the Beech Hill area, on Thursday morning, Greater Manchester Police said.

Two of the men then attempted to force the boy into the back of the car. The victim kicked and pushed the men away and then ran off.

Police said all three men were white, in their 20s and had local accents.

The car is believed to be a Nissan Micra and about 8 years old. It had alloy wheels, a chrome exhaust, and a grey interior with speakers on the parcel shelf.
