Wife Swap star guilty of cruelty

The charges of cruelty all relate to one child

Wife Swap star Lizzy Bardsley has been found guilty of four child cruelty charges.

The 33-year-old, from Rochdale, was found guilty of three charges of wilful assault of a child under 16 and one of wilful ill-treatment.

All the offences relate to one child, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

At Bolton Crown Court, Bardsley, of Hurstead Road in Milnrow, was granted bail until a sentencing hearing on 22 February.

Judge David Hernandez ordered the Probation Service to carry out a pre-sentence report in conjunction with social services.

He added that all sentencing options would remain open.

Bardsley, a mother of eight, shot to fame after appearing on the Channel 4 reality TV series Wife Swap.
