Three released in robbery inquiry

Three men arrested in connection with an armed bank robbery in which a police officer was shot in the face have been released by detectives.

Robbers fired at a police van as they made their getaway from Barclays Bank in Horwich, Bolton, last month.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit robbery, in raids in Westleigh.

A 25-year-old has been released on bail and the two others, aged 19 and 27, have been released without charge.

Police recovered a stun gun, an imitation firearm and a machete in Monday's raids.

Det Ch Insp David Law, of Greater Manchester Police, said the investigation is "very much ongoing".

A £25,000 reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
