Man stabbed for his mobile phone
A man is recovering after being stabbed in the stomach by a robber who demanded he hand over his mobile phone.

The 30-year-old man was attacked on Grove Road in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, on Thursday afternoon.

The attacker jumped out of the bushes near the River Tame and demanded the mobile phone.

The man, from Heyrod, Cheshire, was later discharged from Tameside General Hospital after treatment for a two-inch stab wound.

Police describe the thief as being of tall and skinny build, 5ft 5ins (1.65m) tall and was wearing a grey hooded tracksuit top.

Anybody with information about this incident is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
