Missing man's body is identified

Simon Penk disappeared after going out to the shops on 8 May
The body of a Greater Manchester man who went missing nearly six months ago has been formally identified.

Simon Penk, 36, of Honeysuckle Avenue, Beech Hill, Wigan, disappeared after going food shopping on 8 May.

Mr Penk's body was found in a wooded coppice off Prescott Street, Wigan, on 30 October. A post-mortem examination failed to establish the cause of death.

His death is not regarded as suspicious but police are continuing inquiries. The coroner has been informed.
