Police use web for murder clues
Jessie James
More than 8,000 tributes have been paid to Jessie James on the website
Police are monitoring a website set up in memory of the murdered teenager Jessie James, who was shot dead in Manchester's Moss Side.

The site has tributes and poems to the 15-year-old, who was gunned down in Raby Street exactly a week ago.

Greater Manchester Police said they have also set up a contact point on their own website if people have information about the killing.

Detectives are urging anyone who has information to contact them.

The website set up in Jessie's memory includes poems and tributes to the teenager, under the heading "A fallen soldier".

Jessie was shot near the youth club he attended
More than 8,000 people have visited the site so far.

Jessie, a student at the Manchester Academy, was found collapsed on parkland near his youth club.

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said: "We understand some people might prefer to use the internet to contact the police and we have set up a dedicated point on our website where people can send us information about Jessie James.

"Anyone who has any details about Jessie's murder should go to our website.

"We understand people may be afraid to come forward.

"But we have to find those responsible for killing Jessie and we are trying to make it as easy as possible."

A post-mortem examination showed he was killed by three bullets - two to his torso and one to his appendix.

His killing comes less than three months after 45-year-old Ernest Gifford was shot at home on the same street.

And last month, three men were shot and wounded in two separate incidents in other parts of Moss Side.
