Stephanie Davies leaves a husband and two children
A lollipop woman who died when she was struck by a bus in Salford has been named as a 35-year-old mother-of-two.

Stephanie Davies, of Wychbury Street, Salford, was fatally injured as she worked near Seedley County Primary School on Liverpool Street on Monday.

Emergency services were called and found her trapped under the vehicle. She died at the scene.

Mrs Davies leaves a husband, Martin, and two children, Adam, 15, and Anna, 5, who are "devastated" by her death.

Police say the bus driver is under observation in hospital where he is being treated for shock. Officers will speak him to when he is released.

'Upsetting incident'

It is believed the bus was travelling down Liverpool Street in the direction of Manchester when the collision happened.

Liverpool Street was closed following the incident but was reopened just before 2230 BST on Monday.

Insp Ian Hales said: "This is a really upsetting incident for all of the community, and Stephanie's family are obviously devastated.

"I would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information, particularly if you were on the bus in question."

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
