Fire chiefs have identified the prankster and are to interview him
A video of a uniformed man being spun in tumble-dryer at a fire station features a serving firefighter, Greater Manchester Fire Service has confirmed.

Fire bosses have identified the man and are now planning to talk to him.

He was filmed climbing into the industrial drying machine and packing clothes around to cushion himself before the machine was switched on.

The recording also features background laughter as the man - who has not been suspended - was spun around.

Assistant Chief Officer Steve Beckley said: "When I first saw the video I was extremely concerned.

"First of all in relation to the action but also to the reputation of the service.

"We do not want the public to think that firefighters would act in such a reckless manner and thankfully the vast majority of firefighters don't do."

The Fire Brigades Union is refusing to comment until the fire service investigation has been carried out.
